Three hundred new jobs were created at the stone processing plant “Bioen” in Kondopozhsky District
The Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov announced it during the enterprise opening ceremony.
On June 27, a new stone mining and processing plant “Bioen” was opened at the Sitozersky quarry near the village of Kyappeselga in the Kondopozhsky District. It was built a year and a half ahead of schedule thanks to the assistance of the Government of the Republic.
During the construction of the plant, “Bioen” paid special attention to social protection of the company employees. Comfortable working conditions were created for them: a bathhouse and a canteen were built next to the production area, and the outdoor fitness equipment “MB Barbell” was installed in the open air. When a child is born, each “Bioen” employee receives the financial assistance of one million rubles.
The new facility will produce heavy-duty crushed stone for repair and construction of Moscow roads and kerbstone.
– We have concluded the first interregional offset contract with Moscow for the supply of Karelian crushed stone with the group of companies “Bioen”. Its amount was more than 61 billion rubles. This contract was among the ten largest purchases in the history of the modern contract system, – noted Artur Parfenchikov during the grand opening ceremony of the plant.
The head of Karelia emphasized that the new production will provide significant and stable tax revenues to the regional budget, and will also create jobs. Three hundred people will be employed at the plant.
The sales guarantee allowed the investor company to confidently invest in further production development. The investor gave over a billion rubles more for construction of new workshops for processing natural stone.
– Our experience in implementing an investment project has shown that an offset contract is the most effective legal structure, allowing, on the one hand, to fully meet state needs and, on the other hand, to solve the investor's problems. Moreover, already in the process of implementing the offset contract, the group “Bioen” assumed increased obligations and, as part of the complex on the territory of the Sitozersky quarry, two new stone-processing shops were built to produce goods used for landscaping, – said Oleg Maksimov, the General Director of the OOO “Upravlyajuschaya Kompaniya “BIOEN”.
Karelia continues cooperation with the investor. Artur Parfenchikov noted that at the economic forum held in June 2025 in St. Petersburg, a new agreement was signed with the investor company OOO “Bioen Trade” on construction of a stone products manufacturing plant in the village of Shalsky in the Pudozhsky District. The plant will be built in the near future.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Artur Parfenchikov awarded a number of the employees of the company “Bioen Trade” with the Certificates of Honor of the Government of Karelia and the Honorary Badges of the Head of the Republic for development of the regional mining complex.
Let us recall that on October 23, 2023, the Head of Karelia and the Mayor of Moscow signed an agreement to hold an electronic tender for conclusion of the country first interregional offset contract. According to its terms, the supplier undertakes to supply granite and gabbro-diabase crushed stone of various fractions from Karelia to Moscow for repair and construction of roads. The necessary raw materials will be mined at the Sitozerskoye deposit in the Kondopozhsky district of the republic.
