Karelian companies show significant growth in exports to the UAE and Egypt
Exports of the products from Karelia to the United Arab Emirates and Egypt continue to grow steadily. During the first five months of 2025, deliveries to Egypt increased by 72%, and to the UAE – by 89% compared to the same period last year.
Today, the Export Support Center (ESC) provides services to stimulate and involve small and medium-sized businesses in export activities. The support is provided within the framework of the national project “International Cooperation and Export”. One of the key growth factors was active participation of the Karelian enterprises in international exhibitions, including the Dubai Wood Show, which took place in April 2025.
With the assistance of the Export Support Center, the leading companies of the republic took part in the exhibition: OOO “Karelia Group”, the major manufacturer of timber and woodworking products; OOO “Uyutniy Dom”, which specializes in production of prefabricated wooden houses and building structures; AO “MD”, a well-known supplier of sawn timber and wood products; OOO “KLEZ-Astar”, a manufacturer of high-quality wooden windows, doors and joinery.
Dubai Wood Show is one of the world largest exhibitions in the field of woodworking and furniture production. This participation allowed the Karelian enterprises to strengthen business ties, find new partners and expand their presence in the markets of the Middle East and North Africa.
– The exports growth confirms competitiveness of the Karelian products and effectiveness of the support measures provided to the exporters. We plan to further develop cooperation with the key markets, including the Middle East, – noted the General Director of the ESC of Karelia, Viktor Svirskiy.
An important impetus to the development of cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt was the meeting between the Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov and the Plenipotentiary Minister of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Russian Federation Mr. Yasser Mohamed Ahmed Moustafa in June 2025 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Owing to the national project “International Cooperation and Export”, Karelia continues to increase supplies abroad, strengthening Russia’s position as a reliable supplier of high-quality woodworking products.
